Piped music

On one side of Yunping Road and Tianzhu Road in Jiading New Town is a “steel forest” composed of waste water pipes. When the wind blows, iron clappers inside knock the steel casing, producing sounds that resemble birds twittering. Adding to the avian theme, nest boxes on top of the pipes help create a vivid forest in an urban area. — Li Huacheng
