On the New Year’s Day, doctors Dai Jinming and Zhang Zhimin of Nanxiang Hospital saved a young woman while traveling on Metro Line 11. The woman in 20s collapsed on the carriage’s floor and her body twitching. Ten seconds later, she stopped twitching and her heart stopped beating. The doctors gave her a cardiac massage and a minute later her pulse returned. Two doctors later escorted her to a hospital in an ambulance. The woman is now out of danger.
Museum work
Main structure of the Jiading New Museum at the intersection of Qinghe Road and Bole Road has been completed, and the interior decoration work has just begun. The new museum features its main structure in modern fashion while its outside corridor in retro styles.
Garbage sorting
Sorting rubbish is being promoted in Jiangqiao Town. At a rubbish transit point in Xingfu Village, different bins for different types of garbage have been made available. Six sanitation workers sort the rubbish every day. Some items will be recycled, and others will be sent to the land fills or the refuse incineration plant.
Charitable donation
The Jiading Economy Association donated 1 million yuan (US$160,700) to the Shanghai Disabled People’s Union Jiading Branch on January 4 to help 50 paralyzed people in Jiading.
