New route explores Anting’s car culture

Anting Town in Jiading District, a pivotal hub of China’s automobile in-dustry, unveils a unique two-day tourism route to explore its distinctive automotive culture, promising a fresh and unforgettable experience.

 

Day 1

Shanghai Auto Museum

 

China’s first professional automo-bile museum is in the Shanghai Auto Expo Park. The exhibition hall has a construction area of 28,000 square meters and an exhibition area of over 10,000 square meters, with more than 130 classic vehicles of over 50 global makes on display. Vintage car ride is available.

 

Opening hours: 9:30am-4:30pm

Admission: 60 yuan (adult), 40 yuan (child)

Miniature Wonderland

 

All aboard! At the wonderland, visi-tors can take in stunning landscapes such as the Knight City in France, Swiss towns at the foot of the snowy Alps, and medieval castles in Spain.

The Miniature Wonderland at the Shanghai International Automobile City also features Chinese elements, including a futuristic smart city and the mystical ancient Dunhuang Silk Road. Visitors can bring their own model trains to run on the muse-um’s tracks, or customize miniature figures to place in the theme park scenes.

Shanghai Automobile Art Space

 

About 50 painting works are on display, building an aesthetic bridge across tradition and contemporary. The exhibition space sets up a “scen-ery changing with each step” viewing route, allowing visitors to experience multiple visual language transforma-tions during the tour.

 

Opening hours: Through July 30, 10am-4pm (closed on Monday)

HURA Remote Driving Digital Racing Theme Park

 

HURA is an innovative platform integrating advanced technology, racing culture and entertainment, aiming to provide users with safe and realistic remote driving.

At Karlmann King Planet Building, you can also experience the retro electric vehicle GOGOKA, where adults and children can enjoy the fun of driving on an F1-style track together.

The pet paradise allows people to enjoy a wonderful time having lunch with foxes.

Day 2

 

Shanghai International Circuit

 

A visit to Jiading wouldn’t be com-plete without experiencing the thrill of motorsport speed. The Shanghai International Circuit features China’s only Formula 1 track, spanning 5.45 kilometers with tricky corners and long straights. It has hosted the F1 Chinese Grand Prix and other major races since 2004.

 

Opening hours: 9am-5pm (closed on Monday) 

Admission: 70 yuan for track leisure tour; 128 yuan for core area visit; 188 yuan for track exploration tour (advance reservation required); 218 yuan for 20- year anniversary experience

SIC Kart Land

 

Located within the Shanghai Inter-national Circuit, the 1.23-kilometer track with 18 curves is designed to the FIA’s highest karting standard (International Class A), making it one of Asia’s most challenging tracks.

 

Opening hours: 9am-5pm (closed on Monday)

Admission: 200 yuan for recreational kart (weekdays); 228 yuan for recreational kart (all-day pass)

Shanghai Dalai Time Museum

 

It is a non-profit public museum named after its donor Li Dalai. It houses some 2,500 precious col-lections from around the world, including ancient clocks, mechani-cal music boxes, automatic pianos and gramophones, ranking among China’s most influential mechanical clock museums.

 

Opening hours: 9am-12pm, 1-4:30pm (closed on Monday)

Anting Old Street

 

Located in west Anting Town, the old street integrates Peking Opera and ginkgo scenery, and has creat-ed the Auto Gallery, an auto culture art space.
